Meet our team
Founder/Owner: Jen Lyons
After multiple years working in marketing and publishing, Jen founded Lyons Creative in 2011 with the goal of spending her days doing creative, challenging, and fulfilling work. Over the last 13-plus years, the agency has grown from a one-woman operation to a small (but mighty!) creative agency, and today Jen remains embedded in the creative and strategic work, while also handling agency operations.
When she’s not working, Jen is a wife, mom to two very busy boys, and board vice-president of the Women’s Philanthropic Collective, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women and children in need move from self-sufficiency to stability. She’s also proud to serve as a volunteer group leader for the Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS). Jen loves to travel, speak Spanish, and do yoga.

-
Rebecca Collins
Rebecca Collins has been writing copy since she was in grade school when she wrote her first commercial for Spic and Span (which never saw the light of day).
Over the years she’s honed her craft, combining her word wizardry with the strategic mind of an experienced media planner (she previously created media plans for clients such as Nike and Alaska Air).
Rebecca gave up the morning commute and now starts every day at home with a cup of tea and a dictionary.
-
Rachael Laiosa
Rachel Laiosa, a brand-focused copywriter with 5+ years of experience writing for a variety of industries.
Rachel works with businesses to help bring their stories to life through meaningful, creative copy that captures new audiences and builds brand loyalty.
-
Amber Hart
If you ask those who know Amber, she’s always been too fun and not meant to sit still in an office, so after spending 15 years managing people & projects as an Executive Assistant in the corporate world, one day, she went outside and never went back.
Taking her talent, quirkiness, dry sense of humor, creativity and neurodivergent superpowers into her own hands, she’s now a copywriter, crafter of words, project manager, and BFF to other female creatives.

Margaret Sanford
Margaret Sanford is a designer whose artistic eye has led her on a lifelong quest to see beauty in everyone and everything around her. Her creative endeavors run the gamut of graphic design, interior design, floral arranging, printmaking and beyond — and being a 7 on the Enneagram, don’t be surprised to find her working on several of these at once while simultaneously starting something new.
As the wife of a professional soccer coach, she finds herself in a brand new city every few years — currently it’s Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she and her husband love exploring the Land of Enchantment with their two little boys and rescue pup, Nori. On any given day you might find Margaret hiking in the foothills of the Sandia mountains, drinking a hot honey latte from her neighborhood coffee shop, or scouring local thrift shops for vintage treasures.

Kourtney Borman
Kourtney Borman is someone who's got her head in the clouds—but that’s only because that’s where the best ideas live. A 90s baby powered by sarcasm, caffeine, and a never-ending love of obscure history facts, Kourtney has turned a lifelong passion for writing into a career that fuses creativity, curiosity, and just the right amount of nerdy chaos.
She’s written for digital publications like Parade, Den Garden, House Digest, and Comic Book Resources, and now channels that same energy into copywriting and content creation for Lyons Creative.
-
Diane Dempsey Murray
Diane has spent her career designing for brands that want to make an impact, whether in health care, tech, or retail. With roots in editorial and a background in art direction, design, and photography, she brings a thoughtful eye, strategic thinking, and a knack for bringing order to creative chaos.
When she’s not obsessing over kerning or color palettes, Diane’s out hiking or biking around the Bay Area, or enjoying time with her husband and their two dogs. She regularly practices yoga and volunteers at the SPCA, spending time with puppies and dogs in need of a little extra love. She’s also currently on a slow but determined mission to teach herself Japanese, one Duolingo lesson at a time.

Allison Kaplan
Allison long had dreams of being a journalist, but when writing for the media didn’t pan out, she turned her passion and love for words to marketing. She’s spent the past 20 years in PR, communications, and content strategy, both in-house and agency-side. While her focus is mostly B2B technology brands big and small, she also has thrown in some nonprofit and retail comms into the mix. Throughout it all, digital has and continues to be her primary focus.
When she’s not writing and strategizing, you’ll find her exploring her new suburban Chicago neighborhood, making her way through NPR’s latest book recommendation, or hanging with her family in the backyard.

As a seasoned freelance copywriter and self-published author, Em Wooden is passionate about all forms of the written word.
When she's not frantically typing away, she can be found reading in the park, hiking in the Columbia River Gorge, or sampling tea at any of Portland's numerous teahouses.
